Thank you for using this product. The development team have all worked hard to provide a comprehensive but 'user friendly' tool. This browser will provide you with extremely powerful features whether you simply wish to browse through the documents, or carry out complex selection and printing tasks. If your approach is 'just a quick browse' you can ignore many of the features, but if you have just a little time you will soon master the most comprehensive facilities that are just below the surface.
As with all software, you will want to use it 'straight from the box'. Of course, you can do this. Simply use the 'normal' computer keyboard and mouse actions to scan through the documents, following such hypertext links as you desire.

For Health Authorities
The Electronic Red Book can be run on an intranet through standard browsers! You need some software from us to run on an NT Server. This software runs as a service, and generates HTML pages 'on the fly'. This means there aren't thousands of HTML pages to maintain. We simply send you/online update the infobases.
We can 'customise' the Red Book on your behalf for GP's if you wish. We already do this for some Health Authorities. The sort of things we have done are to add 'pop-ups' that cannot be edited. Click here to see one. and click here for another.
If you want to run the CD version on your network, we can supply a custom installation to allow for server/workstation setup. The workstations have a registry entry and a shortcut. The server holds the application.
For the technically minded

We see this as the first part of an on-going development which leads to automatic collection of the figures from your clinical system. We are building in a facility to generate MIQUEST local queries to run on your practice clinical system. These queries will collect data for you, and read it directly into the Red Book Expert! So you won't need to gather information, for instance, about the number of patients with all their different walking and distance units, or the numbers of patients in different capitation age ranges. The MIQUEST request will be capable of collecting the information directly from your computer system.
