Who is eligible?

How is the main surgery defined?

How to calculate units

Units to be credited for patients not on a GP's list

Rural practice payments not based on units

This scheme provides for mileage payments to be made from a central fund which is fixed annually and known as the Rural Practice Fund. The total amount available is divided by the number of units credited to GPs throughout England and Wales, and the payment to each individual GP is calculated by multiplying the number of units to which the GP is entitled by the value of each unit.
